DAY 1 | Roussillon

On arrival it’s time to, unpack, build bikes in the beautiful gardens followed by a shortish ride today to work out the travel legs. Taking in the beautiful red stone village of Rousillon we will be home in time to enjoy a welcoming drink before an early dinner and an early turn in to recover from our travels.

DAY 2 | Apt & St Saturnin

A rolling ride across the plains and hilltops of Provence taking in the market town of Apt and the Villages of St Saturnin and Gargas is today’s adventure. Time to explore each of the towns and villages en route.

DAY 3 | Cavaillon & St Remy in Provence

Time to lift the distance as we set out on today’s adventure which takes us toward Avignon and across the River Durance en route to St Remy in Provence.

DAY 4 | Rest Day

 

So much to do and it’s all in your hands though let me suggest you don’t miss the wonderful Papal City of Avignon. On the other hand a day of relaxation would also be acceptable. (Tomorrow we visit the Giant!)

Day 5 | The Giant of Provence - Mont Ventoux

Today we drive to the village of Sault where our ride begins. Heading to Bedoin, take the time to warm up your climbing legs as it is here that the ascent begins. Up and over the Giant before stunning descent to Gigondas for a well-deserved sample of its world famous wines.

Day 6 | Loumarin & Menerbes

Loumarin and Menerbes are our goals today, our final day in Provence. An early start and lunch in nearby Menerbes before home to pack bikes in readiness for our departure tomorrow.

 DAY 7 | Fontaine & I'sle Sur A Sorgue

 DAY 8 | Transfer to Midi Pyrenees

DAY 9 | Col Du Tourmalet

Now for the Big One – we ride the most legendary of the Pyrenean climbs, and one of the true giants of the Tour, the mighty Col du Tourmalet. This is not a col to be taken lightly. The scene of some of the Tour's fiercest mountain battles, you will be glad to see the statue to Jacques Goddet as you crest the pass, and you will feel immense satisfaction at having conquered this beast of a climb.

After taking a break on Tourmalet, we descend BACK into the village of Luz-Saint-Saveur.

DAY 10 | Hautacam

Another test of character today with our aim on Hautacam. Shorter option for those who prefer.

DAY 11 | Coach Transfer to the Costa Brava

Breakfast from 6.00am - Coach Dep

Settle back for a beautiful transfer to our seaside accommodation on the fabulous Costa Brava where your most important decision for the next few days will be deciding whether tohit the beach before or after our daily rides.

DAY 12 | Blaynes

Today we do a ride to Blanes and home again taking in some fantastic coastal scenery.

DAY 13 | Playa D'Oro

A chance to check out the coastal scenery north of Tossa today. A constant day of ups and downs (mostly small ascents and descents (but they all add up so take it easy)

DAY 14 | Llagostera & Saint Grau

A beautiful circuit ride today which takes us to our only major climb in Catalonia (and our last for the tour) Sant Grau. Make sure you bring the camera today.

First to the pretty seaside village of Lloret de Mar and them on to Caldes and Llagostera and home for lunch and afternoon at the beach perhaps?

Today we head to the beautiful City of Barcelona. Quite a short drive so sit back and enjoy and we will try and make the trip as painless as possible.

DAY 17  Coach Transfer to Barcelona

Coach transfer to Rome (travel time, 0hrs)

  • Breakfast from 6.00am – Coach Departure 8.30am
  • Today we leave Tuscany behind as we transfer from our accommodation to our Rome apartments and 3 days of leisurely discovery and wind down.
  • After check in, our staff will assist with bike storage and you will be free to discover Rome at your own pace either singly or as small groups according to your preference.

DAY 21 | Depart Barcelona
