Planning Your Trip
A holiday is not a holiday if you are forever worrying about making flights, catching cabs and buses, finding restaurants and calling travel agents. Tailwind Tours can arrange all of that for you in house. Just bring yourself and your bike and we will take care of the rest - including all:
- Air Fares
- Internal Coach Transfers
- Breakfast Daily
- Escorted Rides
- Support Vehicles
- Ride Coordinator
- 2 x Tailwind Tours Cycle Kits (Jersey, & Knicks)
TWO OR MORE GUEST SUPPORT CREW
All of our tours include a minimum of two dedicated staff per tour. We prefer to keep our tours small and intimate but in the event of any particular group exceeding 14, or the trip is an especially demanding one, additional staff will be supplied. Complete customer satisfaction is the prime aim of Tailwind Tours and our travel crew will do all in their power to ensure your complete satisfaction.
BIKES AND EQUIPMENT
We strongly recommend the use of your own bicycle. Nothing can ruin a perfect tour better than an uncomfortable ride. Because of our travel arrangements which include your land transfers from Airport to Accommodation, travelling with your bike is no inconvenience.
Clothing and equipment needs can vary depending on the tour and destination, but be assured we are here to assist and can provide full equipment recommendations for each tour.
Unlike most tours which move each few days, (sometimes even daily), we prefer to choose the best central locations available and create a home base. Once we find the perfect location we then seek out the perfect accommodation. This can vary from Chateaux to Hotel to Villa style accommodation but in all cases, luxury and guest comfort are our prime consideration.
Because our tours are boutique style and often custom designed, we are able to source accommodation best suited to each group and at a preferred budget.
All breakfasts and some dinners are included in the price of your trip. But as this is a holiday and an experience, we purposely leave most meals to the guests own choice. Our staff are well versed in the local culinary offerings and can recommend choices from the best and most economic boulangerie to the finest of Michelin restaurants.
WELCOMES AND FAREWELLS
We love getting to know our guests and providing you the opportunity to meet each other and so we host you to welcome drinks on each tour and then when our time together comes to an end we toast your departure in similar style.
Our support crew will always include a support vehicle and a ride captain ensuring that you are comfortable at all times both on and off the bike.
All land transfers (airport to accommodation etc.,) required during your tour will be arranged by us and will be included in your tour cost.
All our tour pricing is provided on a Twin Share basis. However, we completely understand that some guests prefer their own privacy. Just ask for a Single Supplement (price varies by destination) to ensure you are completely satisfied with your arrangements.
- Airfare to and from the trip
- Transportation to or from your home airport
- Accommodation before and after the tour
- Personal items purchased during the tour
- Some meals
"An amazing experience."
"Just wanted to thank you for another awesome Velo Euro experience. France was spectacular once again and the climb up Col Du Galibier is one Tracey and I will never forget (and probably never repeat!). We also really enjoyed the Atlantic coast and St Jean De Luz. The Basque festival was an unexpected treat. Finally we just loved Barcelona, especially as it is a destination we probably wouldn’t have visited on our own. The camaraderie of our group was a highlight and the accommodation was your usual high standard. Congratulations on another fine effort. We look forward to seeing some more of the world with Tailwind Tours."
“I can’t wait until next summer!”
"What a fabulous trip! I will never forget the first day of the tour cycling in Italy, looking down the valley at this amazing view. The view just kept getting better as we climbed higher, lunch was sooo good and this was just the first day! It was great to have the support for all the rides and for those of us who really don't want to know too much about bike bits. Yes the tour really did cater for all different levels of ability (I was very concerned about this prior to leaving). The food, wine and scenery continued to improve along with my cycling (added bonus). There is plenty to do and lots to see when the cycling is done for the day. I would recommend the trip to all, a tremendous way to travel and I guarantee you will come home with memories of a lifetime."
